OUR journey began..
10 years ago we searched extensively for a parcel of land in a high rainfall area which would produce good pasture to breed and raise a herd of quality beef cattle.
With stunning views of Mount Wombat, Miramonte Farm is located 650 meters above sea level on the tablelands of the pristine Strathbogie Ranges in north-east Victoria.
We developed the farm utilising 'best' farming practices for raising cattle - laneway and rotational grazing layout,
Temple Grandin inspired stockyards allows calm, efficient handling of our cattle. To ensure pristine water, we've created a large reserve along the natural water course that feeds the main dam and extends down to Sevens Creek. Our cattle are raised on seasonal pasture and fresh spring water which is reticulated around the farm from our main dam.
Murray Grey's were our breed of choice. Their docile nature and easy calving ability were perfect attributes for our venture into farming. The breeds lighter coloured coats with darker pigment skin keeps them cooler and reduces sunburn during the summer. Our bulls Excalibur and his son Leonardo graze with our 'mums' year round, the way family life is meant to be. The herd is quietly handled and transported in pairs in our own trailer. Less stress leads to a relaxed, happier life for the herd whilst producing quality, tender beef.
